Saving the text on the current page to your computer
- Point to the link, hold down the mouse button, and then do one of the following:
- Select Download Image to Disk from the shortcut menu.
- Select Download Link to Disk from the shortcut menu.
- Type a file name if one is not given.
- Select the location where you want the item to be saved.
- Click Save.
Tips
- Internet Explorer saves a copy of a picture, not an alias to it.
- If you want to add a link to your favorites list, instead of saving the page to
your computer, hold down the mouse button over the link, and then select
Add Link To Favorites from the shortcut menu.
- Point to the image, and then drag it to the disk.
- While viewing the site you want to save, click Save As from the File menu.
- On the Format menu, make sure Web Archive is selected.
- Select the location where you want to store the archived file.
- Click Options and select the check boxes that correspond to the amount of content you want to archive.
- Click Save. A window appears displaying the progress of the download. If there are problems downloading an item, you can double-click the item in the window to get more details.
- Once you have archived the file, you can view it by double-clicking it.
Tips
- To save connection time and costs, visit your archived pages when you are offline.
- You can also archive items in your favorites or channels list.

- On the File menu, click Download File.
- Type the URL of the file you want to download.
- The location where the file will be downloaded is displayed in the Save Location area. If you want to change the location, click Change.
- Click Download. The Download Manager opens and provides you with information about the status, size, and amount of data transferred. You can continue to visit Web pages while this file downloads in the background.
Tip
- Download Manager maintains a history of the files you download.
This is useful when you can't remember if you have downloaded a file
or where you downloaded it to. To check the location of a downloaded
file, click Download Manager from the File menu, and
then double-click the file name.

- On the View menu, click Stop Loading.

- When you stop a file download, the file is still listed in the Download Manager, but its status will be marked as "Cancelled."

- A green check mark beside a file indicates that the file was downloaded successfully. You can also review the information under Status.
- You can sort the information in the Download Manager by file name, status, time download, or the amount of information transferred. To sort, click the column heading at the top of the dialog box that matches your sort criteria.
- You can change the size of the columns in the Download Manager. To do so, point the mouse over the cross-hatched pattern (notice that the pointer becomes a hand) and then drag the column.

- From the View menu, click Source.
- Hold down the mouse button, and then select View Source from the shortcut menu.
Note
- You cannot edit a page that is on the Web, but you can save a copy of the page on your computer and edit that copy.
- You can also print the HTML source. After you've opened the HTML source, click Print from the File menu.
